Sol Halabi was born in 1977 in Cordoba, Argentina. In 1998, Halabi became a Specialist Designer at the National College Monserrat, National University of Cordoba. In 2000 Halabi recieved a degree in Fine Arts at the Figueroa Alcorta School of Arts, Cordoba, and in 2002 earned the licentiate of painting title at the National University of Cordoba.
Through fairs and exhibits her paintings have entered the international circuit, where for several years her signature work has been among the favorites of new Latin American art collectors. Some of her works are in private collections in Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Panama, Italy, Switzerland, Germany and the United States, where recently one of her works was selected to integrate the collection of MOCA Los Angeles.
Among Halabi’s first solo shows were the IV Salon C.A.C. Cordoba, Argentina (1999) and the Cultural Center San Martin at the Federal Capital, Argentina (1999) and she has since had numerous individual exhibitions throughout Argentina.
Human figures, their faces in particular, have been the object of her affection. Her technique has been described as an unconventional construction of the figure with openness to the psychological dimensions of the themes and the tensions between materials.
